Agriculture
Hydraulic cylinders are one of the main components in heavy machinery that are used in mechanized farms. They help operate equipment that assist in all phases – soil preparation, planting, fertilization and harvesting
Aviation Ground Support
A variety of equipment such as aircraft tugs, pushback tractors, baggage tractors, aircraft belt loaders, aircraft passenger stairs, cargo loaders, de-icer trucks and lav trucks use hydraulic cylinders.
Construction
Hydraulic cylinders are used in a variety of construction equipment to lift, lower or move material and equipment. An example is in earth-moving equipment to lift or lower the boom, arm or bucket.
Food Processing
Complex processes in this industry require multilple types of movements from transport and sorting to lifting and rotating. Hydraulic cylinders made of stainless steel are often recommended for food processing because of it’s rust resistance and exceptional grease cleaning ability.
Forestry
Hydraulic cylinders are widely used for applications requiring a compact retracted dimension, but need a longer stroke. Feller bunchers, skidders, knuckle boom loaders, and harvesters use hydraulic cylinders for precise, safe operation in unique forestry conditions.
Government
From the armed forces to civilian applications, hydraulic cylinders are used by the government in a variety of custom and standard equipment.
Health Care
Use in stretchers and trolleys in hospitals to handle high side loads. Compact with un-necessary additional parts. Hydraulic cylinders offer maximum versatility that are ideal for situations with limited space during emergencies. They are also used in on-site waste treatment in healthcare facilities.
Industrial
Hydraulic cylinders are used in a variety of equipment and machinery in different industrial applications that may require high cycles and fast travel speeds, and may operate in contaminated, high impact environments. One example is a hydraulic press
Marine
High geometrical accuracy and efficiency under extreme environmental conditions with high corrosion.Deepening and maintaining ports, rivers, and canals is a continuous challenge for dredging, pipe laying or barges that have to perform under heavy force and conditions including hot and very cold temperatures, exposure to salt water, rain, ice and many other forms of contamination. Boats, docks, dredgers and other marine equipment use hydraulic cylinders.
Material Handling
The lifting and lowering of different weights in forklift trucks, telehandlers, and lift-gates all require the force hydraulic cylinders produce. They are also used in many continuous material handling systems.
Mining
Hydraulic cylinders in mining equipment can operate at a specified pressure to take advantage of the force exerted by the cylinders to achieve massive force and lift heavier loads. During mining, hydraulic cylinders give the operator more control, particularly when moving rocks and objects downwards.
Off-Highway
Off highway equipment are put to the test every day in rigorous environments and on rough terrain. Underground drills, mobile all terrain cranes, rock crushers and similar equipment demand stabilization that is robust and delivers maximum environmental tolerance. Used for heavy loads or when moving loads with short strokes at 100 percent duty cycle.
Oil & Gas
One of the largest sectors in the world. There are three segments in the oil and gas industry: upstream, midstream, and downstream. Upstream, exploration and production, finding reservoirs and drilling oil and gas wells; midstream is providing transportation from wells to refineries. Downstream are the refining and sales of the finished product. Hydraulic cylinders help the o&g industry operate efficiently, and at full capacity. Hydraulic cylinders are used in all three segments, but more heavily in upstream and midstream.
Packaging
Refers to the process of designing, evaluating, producing and using packages. Hydraulic cylinders enable and add convenience in packaging, distribution, handling, stacking, display, and ease of disposal
Refuse
Refuse refers to unwanted waste material, especially material that is regularly thrown away from the home, factory, etc. Refuse equipment needs the force, power and precision that hydraulic cylinders provide to lift, crush and move the material.
Transportation
Heavy vehicles including trucks, wheel chair lifts, tailgate lifts, terminal trucks, or transport trailers use a fully integrated hydraulic application system that can extend, lift, grab and reach with different force and/or weight.
